International Education—Evaluation of Credentials

If you received your education from a college or university outside the United States, you will need to have your records of academic studies evaluated by a Board recognized evaluation service to determine equivalency with Washington State requirements.

Please contact one of the Board recognized evaluation services listed below for further information regarding evaluation of international credentials. Evaluators of international education do not evaluate education earned at schools located in the United States.

At a minimum, the Board requires the following from evaluation service applicants in order to be considered for "recognition" by the Board:

  1. A letter of application
  2. References from other accountancy boards which currently accept the evaluation service
  3. Proof of Professional society memberships and credentials
  4. A sample evaluation
  5. Proof of membership in the National Association of Credentials Evaluation Services (NACES)
