Ronald D. Sabado, CPA, CMA, Highline Community College

Governor Gary Locke appointed Ron to the Washington State Board of Accountancy on February 18, 2002. Governor Locke reappointed Ron to the Board in April 2004 and again in October 2007. Ron is on the faculty of Highline Community College where he teaches accounting. He also teaches financial aspects of contracts and understanding financial information for the University of Washington Extension Program.

Ron was honored with Central Washington University's College of Business 2007 "Advancing the Dream" award. He is the 10th recipient of the "Advancing the Dream" award established to recognize the outstanding contributions of professors in community colleges across Washington who work with students from a variety of backgrounds, capabilities and aspirations.

Prior to joining Highline, Ron was an audit manager for the Defense Contract Audit Agency. Ron graduated from the University of Washington in 1973 with Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with emphasis in accounting and from Central Michigan University in 1999 with Master of Science in Administration.

Ron is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Washington Society Certified Public Accountants, Institute of Management Accountants, and the National Contract Management Association. Ron and has held his Washington State CPA license since 1977 and also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certificate since 1993.

For 27 years, Ron has been active in youth soccer and has served in various jobs in soccer club administration but always returns to his first love - coaching.

Ron holds a valid Washington State CPA license to practice public accounting.
