QAR Reviewers Needed
The Board Wants You!
Yes, the Board of Accountancy needs your experience and expertise to assist with the Quality Assurance Review (QAR) program to monitor the work of Washington licensed CPA firms.
What is QAR?
The program was established in 1986 to ensure that quality compilation, review and other attestation services are provided by our licensed firms so that others may rely on that information.
How does the QAR program work?
Qualified, volunteer CPAs from Washington CPA firms throughout the state review the reports and financial statements submitted by CPA firms.
What is required to be a volunteer for the QAR program?
Volunteers must have held a current Washington CPA license for at least three (3) years, and must have experience providing review, compilation and/or other attestation services.
Is there particular experience the Board is looking for?
The Board is looking for all types of experience in providing these services and encourages all qualified CPAs to apply. We especially need CPAs having experience with labor unions, agriculture, common interest realty associations (CIRAs), contractors and personal financial statements.
Why should I volunteer?
This is a great opportunity to meet fellow CPAs in the state, give back to the profession and earn some continuing professional education credits.
Who do I contact to volunteer?
If you are interested, please contact Jennifer Sciba at jennifers@cpaboard.wa.gov or (360) 586-0952.
