Call to Order

The Chair, Edwin Jolicoeur, took a roll call. With a quorum present the Chair called the Special Board meeting to order at 11:36 a.m.

Rule Amendment - WAC 4-25-530

Richard Sweeney, CPA, Executive Director, reported on the public rule-making hearing held in Olympia on June 28, 2008, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. No one from the public attended the hearing to offer testimony. The Board received one comment via voicemail regarding the proposal. Board staff provided the Board with a transcription of the message via email on June 26, 2008. The Board received no other comments regarding the rule proposal.

The five participating Board members voted unanimously to adopt the rule proposal with an effective date of August 1, 2008.

Meeting with Oregon Board of Accountancy

The Board expressed interest in pursuing a joint meeting with the Oregon Board of Accountancy to discuss common issues. The Executive Director with contact Kent Bailey, Chair of the Oregon Board, to find a mutually acceptable date, time, and central location for a meeting within the next three months.

Online Application Project

The Executive Director reported that the committee for the Information Technology (IT) Pool approved a $140,000 grant to the agency to implement the online application project.

Public Input

No members of the public attended the meeting.

The regular Board meeting was adjourned at 11:50 a.m.
